By Michael Fraley
The SALT triage method, which stands for Sort, Assess, Lifesaving interventions, Treatment and/or transport, is a four-step process for responders to use at mass casualty incidents. You can learn more about how to use SALT to triage MCI patients or jump directly into the quiz questions.
MCI scenario: You and your partner have been called to a scene with multiple injured patients. One additional ambulance is expected to the scene in five minutes, but any additional assistance from fire, EMS or law enforcement is at least 10 to 15 minutes away. There are more patients than caregivers.
