With an estimated 5.4 million people ordered to evacuate, Hurricane Florence is already wreaking havoc as an entire coastline attempts to flee. Despite warnings from the National Weather Service that Florence could be the “storm of a lifetime” for many, many people are planning to stay and ride out the Category 4 hurricane, stocking up on canned food, bottled water and generators.
Industry personnel are also preparing for the storm, with hundreds of first responders working evacuation routes, prepping shelters and planning for significant flooding once the storm makes landfall.
