MEDS Unit (Frontline Innovations)

After realizing its effectiveness during the COVID-19 surge within their own EMS operation, Michael McCabe and colleague Brian Borow mused on the idea of making electrostatic technology more modular, mobile and specific to areas at high risk for contamination, such as ambulances and medical exam rooms. Creating a product that would achieve an equal or greater rate of disinfection utilizing electrostatic technology, while decreasing the need for manual application and out of service time, was the primary goal. Utilizing the patented technology of MaxCharge ESS handheld sprayers and modifying its application to create a standard of disinfection for the patient compartment of ambulances was the end goal. With that, Frontline Innovations was created, and the development of what has become known as the "MEDS" (Modular Electrostatic Disinfection System) unit was born.
