National EMS Advisory Council elects new chairperson

Vince Robbins served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of MONOC, New Jersey’s largest EMS and mobile healthcare shared service hospital cooperative

PLATTE CITY, Mo. — NEMSMA Board of Directors congratulates President-Elect Vince Robbins on his election as the chairperson of the National EMS Advisory Council (NEMSAC) during this year’s inaugural meeting in Washington D.C.

NEMSAC was established in April 2007 as a nationally recognized council of EMS representatives and consumers to provide advice and recommendations regarding EMS to NHTSA in the Department of Transportation and to the members of the Federal Interagency Committee on EMS. NEMSAC provides a forum for the development, consideration and communication of information from a knowledgeable and independent perspective.

“I am deeply honored to have been selected to Chair this extraordinarily important Council,” Robbins said. “The 25 members of NEMSAC are among the nation’s best and most innovative leaders in EMS and Paramedicine in the country. They are truly a group of the profession’s thought leaders and future thinkers. It is quite humbling to be chosen by my colleagues to act as their Chairman.”

Sabina A. Braithwaite, MD, Associate Medical Director for the Medical Control Board, EMS System for Metropolitan Oklahoma City and Tulsa and Clinical Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Preventive Medicine & Public Health at the University of Kansas was elected as the Vice Chairperson, their tenures start immediately.

Since 1990, Robbins has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of MONOC, New Jersey’s largest EMS and mobile healthcare shared service hospital cooperative. While leading MONOC, the company has grown fifteen fold and now includes 15 member hospitals and employs over 750 staff.

Robbins is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves as the President-Elect of the National EMS Management Association, as an Editorial Board member of EMS World magazine and as Board Member of the North-Central EMS Cooperative.
