LEBANON, Pa. — Community members are mourning the death of a longtime paramedic who died unexpectedly March 7.

Gregory Wentzel was one of the first paramedics in Lebanon in 1986, and was considered a knowledgeable, caring and compassionate paramedic, according to Legacy.

Wentzel’s death is considered a line of duty death, as he fell ill while on duty, and later died in his sleep at home.

Many first responders saluted and escorted Wentzel during his funeral procession.

He leaves behind his wife and son.

Today we honor the commitment, service and life of FASP Paramedic Greg Wentzel.
