SAN JOSE, Calif. — Police in Northern California say an injured man survived without food or water for one week in the woods after crashing his car.
San Jose police Officer Jose Garcia says it was a miracle that the man was found unconscious but alive Tuesday.
KTVU-TV (http://bit.ly/Jv2lfs) reports 25-year-old Michael Sanchez is in critical condition at a hospital.
Sanchez was reported missing by his family when he failed to show up for a funeral on May 10. He was last seen on May 8, the same day that investigators say his car was towed after a single-vehicle rollover near a busy freeway. No one was in the car.
Detectives went to the crash site Tuesday and found the man in a dense thicket of brush and trees between the freeway ramps.
