CHICAGO — A man allegedly stole a Chicago ambulance while paramedics were trying to load a patient into the back of it.
Police say the 43-year-old man, whose name was not released, got into the ambulance Sunday afternoon as paramedics were moving the patient, according to the Chicago Sun Times.
The man sped away but then crashed the rig after driving for about a block, authorities said.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the hospital for treatment. No injuries to the paramedics or patient were reported as a result of the theft.
