RIVERSIDE, Calif. — An employee with American Medical Response in the Riverside area was arrested on March 25 on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teen patient, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Jason Anderson, 22, was working in an ambulance when he assaulted the girl and solicited sexual acts from her, according to investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was being transported for medical reasons, Sgt. Frank Tiburzio said.
The investigation is continuing as authorities say there may be other victims.
Anderson has been jailed and is being held on $75,000 bail.
An AMR spokesperson said the company is cooperating with the Sheriff’s Department.
“We were informed of an alleged incident involving an AMR Riverside employee. Following an internal investigation of the allegations, the incident was reported to the Riverside Sheriff’s Department for further review,” AMR said in a statement. “The employee in question was placed on administrative leave during the course of our internal investigation and has not worked since the day the alleged incident took place.”
