MESA, Ariz. — A suspected thief thought he could get a steal on gas but got burned. He caught himself and his truck on fire, then crashed into a nearby home.
The man is seen rolling on the ground trying to put out the flames consuming his shirt. Investigators said it’s his own fault, though. They said he was trying to steal gasoline by siphoning it with a motorized pump.
“He was all burnt up,” said Mitch Drum, who chased after the man.
