SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — A 27-year-old Michigan woman was arraigned on a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon and three charges of assaulting/resisting/obstructing an officer, MLive reported. Shaunyce Rowland allegedly attacked two Michigan State Police troopers and a paramedic after a traffic stop on Oct. 19.
An officer pulled her over for speeding after clocking her vehicle speed at 102 mph, according to the Michigan State Police. The police say that she was verbally abusive and refused to show her driver’s license.
The trooper went back to his patrol vehicle to try to identify the driver when Rowland got out of her car and approached him. He asked her to return to her vehicle. She refused, and the officer said Rowland would be arrested. A short foot chase and struggle ensued.
With help from other troopers, the officer managed to take Rowland into custody, but as they tried to secure her in the patrol vehicle, she kicked one in the head. Rowland kept kicking, hitting a paramedic in the head and another trooper in the mouth.
Court proceedings are pending.
