REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — Paramedic Liz Moye knew something was wrong the instant the call came over the radio in the still-dark hours on a June morning one year ago.
She began running for the medic vehicle right away as Michael Wissman started talking about a motor vehicle accident — a crash involving the ambulance he had been driving along Route 24, transporting a patient to Beebe Medical Center.
“It was the tone in his voice that something was very wrong,” Moye said.
