LOGANSPORT, Ind. —Five people in Indiana were sent to a hospital after police say they were electrically shocked inside a swimming pool.

Around 2:35 p.m. Aug. 25, first responders were called to a home in Logansport, WTHR reported.

When police arrived, they found three juveniles and two adults hurt from an electric shock while they were swimming in a pool, according to WXIN. All five people were taken to a hospital, and two of the juveniles were transferred to another hospital for additional treatment.

Investigators said it was a “freak accident,” according to WOWO. Officials found that a wire on one of the pool pumps was pinched, causing the rubber covering to break and expose the wire.

Logansport is a roughly 80-mile drive north from Indianapolis.
