ST. PAUL, Minn. — Ramsey County Sheriff Matt Bostrom is promoting a new service designed to help disabled residents in the event of an emergency.
The sheriff and the St. Paul Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities say disabled residents can put their medical information in the hands of first responders by filling out a form with their name, address and medical information.
If a disabled person calls 911, first responders will know if they are entering a situation with special circumstances.
The service is voluntary, and the information will be kept at the 911 call center.
Bostrom and others released a public service announcement to promote the service.
The form is not limited to disabled people — it’s for anyone who has information to get to emergency responders ahead of time, St. Paul Fire Marshal Steve Zaccard said.
