FALLS CHURCH, Va. — The National Association of State Emergency Medical Services Officials is requesting feedback from EMS providers nationwide for their second revision of the National Scope of EMS Practice Model.
According to NASEMSO, a panel determined that clinical practice decisions must be based on the cognitive and psychomotor preparation of EMS providers, and Draft 2 aims to improve the description of the EMS level spectrum from the 2007 Practice Model.
Assignments of skills and tasks will be prepared for a final draft after community consensus has been reached on the level descriptions.
NASEMSO added that input is also invited for general recommendations concerning strengthening the national preparedness for situations such as fighting the opioid epidemic, emerging infectious diseases and man-made disasters.
