SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky group will teach kids how to use naloxone to reverse an opioid overdose.
Community-based Bullitt County Opioid Addiction Team will train the first group of children on Nov. 21, Cincinnati.com reported.
The group leader, Jennifer Stepp, already taught her 8-year-old daughter, Audrey. Audrey’s brother and Stepp’s son has struggled with addiction for years.
Stepp said people will think this as controversial and she’s OK with that.
“This is telling them, if you do find a brother, sister, mother, uncle, not breathing, here’s something that you can do about it,” said Dr. Mina “Mike” Kalfas, a certified addiction expert in Northern Kentucky.
Evzio donated kits for the training.
