In this Inside EMS Podcast episode, co-hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson talk about the benefits of an online EMS education. Kelly, who’s recently started teaching an online class, stated that online self-study is becoming the new evolution in EMS education.
They also discuss the week’s news, including a bill that recognizes PTSD as a work-related diagnosis to be voted on in Toronto, a PTSD Senate bill in South Carolina that’s being slowed down due to a minority report, a story out of Maine where a woman and her son survived after their SUV plunged off a bridge and a paramedic that’s raising money for SIDS awareness after his two-year-old son died in June 2012.
Chris and Kelly also point out a story about how Montgomery County Hospital District initiated a ketamine use clinical guideline in 2010 and how they’ve been collecting quality assurance data on the drug’s use for sedation, pain management and rapid sequence intubation.
