GALAX, Va. — Four EMS personnel and the driver of a civilian car were injured Friday night in a crash in Galax, Va.
The ambulance was its way to a Twin County Regional Hospital with a patient in the back, according to police. The driver of the emergency vehicle attempted to change lanes when it struck a pickup truck, which then hit another car.
WXII12 reported how the driver of the ambulance, Gerald Melton, 68, was extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital along with the three EMTs who were helping treat the patient.
The driver of the car was also injured.
All injures are non-life threatening, according to WXII12.
No charges were filed in the crash, according to police.
