SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Highway Patrol is investigating a Monday night tour bus and semitrailer crash on Interstate 70.
The bus was traveling slowly on the westbound lane near the Colorado-Utah state line when it was hit from behind by the tractor-trailer, said UHP’s Todd Johnson.
A total of 25 men, members of a music band, were on the bus. In all, 13 were injured, two of them were flown to a Grand Junction, Colo., hospital. The rest suffered minor neck- and back-pain injuries. Four ambulances from Utah and two from Colorado responded. The semitrailer driver was not injured, Johnson said. The bus was traveling from Colorado to Los Angeles.
The crash happened about 20 miles west of the Colorado line at about 9:40 p.m., Johnson said.
