GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Gov. Jared Polis ordered all flags on public buildings to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, Sept. 21, in honor of a fallen first responder.
South Metro Fire Rescue Firefighter-Paramedic Anthony Palato died earlier this month after a battle with occupational cancer.
“As a paramedic for 21 years, there is no doubt that Tony touched many lives and will be remembered as a kind, caring and compassionate person with a true servant’s heart, he will be greatly missed,” an earlier statement from SMFR read.
