HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Bright Star Lighting Product is pleased to announce that their Lighthawk fire lantern has officially passed all UL testing and received approval in Class I, Division 2 for Groups A, B, C and D and Class II, Division 2 for Groups F and G for use in hazardous locations. The Temperature Code for the 4 & 6 Cell is T1 and T3 for the 8 Cell.
Matt Malcolm, director of sales and marketing for Bright Star Lighting Products said, “Knowing a products’ safety ratings becomes critical if you work in an environment where ignitable materials are present. All too often, these ratings are overlooked because of their sometimes cryptic nature. With the Lighthawk’s safety rating certification we are excited to offer a lantern that offers both safety and high-performance for emergency personnel.”
The Lighthawk was created in 2005 using valuable input from leading public safety units. “We heard their need for a lightweight, high-performance lantern equipped with extremely visible taillights that could provide enough runtime for an entire shift,” said Malcolm. From that input came the Lighthawk — a solutions-based tool that meets the needs of a wide range of public safety professionals.
The Lighthawk is the first lantern ever powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery — making it the lightest fire lantern availabl today. At just 1.9 lbs it is up to 33% lighter than popular competitive brands, but Malcolm points out that it isn’t a lightweight when it comes to performance, safety and durability.
