WEST OLIVE, Mich. — After spending four months in the hospital, paramedic Tim Hoffman will be returning home just in time for Thanksgiving.

Hoffman and his ambulance partner, Kevin Jongekryg, were trapped in an ambulance when they were struck by a suspected drunk driver, reported WZZM. Hoffman did not have a seat belt on at the time of the crash.

Hoffman’s community has supported him, his wife and young daughter by donating over $50,000 via GoFundMe.

The 11-year veteran received a metal plate in his head last week to help recover from head injuries.
