TAIWAN — A surveillance camera captured the moment a man was swallowed by a sinkhole as it suddenly opened up without warning on a Taiwan street.
The unidentified man was reportedly walking around Taipei last Wednesday morning when the street collapsed. His body was later recovered by rescuers.
The Associated Press reported that the sinkhole was likely from the torrential rain of Typhoon Saola, which has been pounding Taiwan since early last week.
Five people have died and two are missing since the beginning of the storm.
In a separate incident, the video report shows a TV reporter fleeing for safety after the road collapses behind her following the storms.
