GALVESTON, Texas — Several people were injured when a prison hospital elevator fell about three feet.
As many as 16 people were on the elevator Wednesday, according to KHOU. Firefighters responded to the call and helped transport people to the hospital for evaluation.
No major injuries were reported, a fire official said.
The elevator’s braking system apparently stopped the lift at the ground floor of the University of Texas Medical Branch. The branch has a hospital for inmates of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
