TULSA, Okla. — Police confirm that a man accused of posing as a paramedic at a deadly accident scene has been arrested. 22-year-old Joel Lack is now in the Tulsa County Jail.
FOX23 News obtained an affidavit from the Tulsa County DA’s office Tuesday, detailing the disturbing crime that happened at the scene of a deadly crash last month along Highway 51 in Sand Springs. The affidavit says Lack pretended to be a firefighter/paramedic in front of other officials at the scene of the crash. He is accused of stealing a bag of narcotics from a Life Flight helicopter and a piece of medical equipment. He was arrested Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened June 9, after OHP says a driver under the influence slammed into a group of three bicyclists with her SUV. Two of the cyclists died. Suspected driver Tausha Borland is now out on bond, charged with two counts of manslaughter.
