Ohio EMT dies after being struck by car

The off-duty volunteer was struck as she donned a reflective vest to help direct traffic

SWANTON, Ohio — A volunteer firefighter/EMT who stopped to help motorists after a crash in Swanton was killed Friday when a car struck her as she directed traffic.

Charolette Adair, 45, was on her way to work when she came upon an accident Friday morning, according to FirefighterCloseCalls.com.

Adair, a volunteer for the Richfield Center Fire Department, was struck as she exited her vehicle and donned her reflective vest to help direct traffic, according to FirefighterCloseCalls.

She was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical center where she died of her injuries.

According to FirefighterCloseCalls, Adair was a teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Assumption.
