Long-term issues plague DC’s EMS system

Once again, DCFD goes out of its way to make itself look bad

I guess what goes on in the halls of our federal government trickles down to DC’s politics — when faced with major problems, blame each other for what’s broken, rather than getting together and trying to solve it.

Once again, DCFD goes out of its way to make itself look bad. It certainly makes the job of a DC news reporter much easier. Never a dull moment!

Honestly, who knows whether something nefarious is happening with slow moving ambulances or a major sickout on New Year’s Eve.

It would certainly seem less than admirable. Likewise, blaming labor for all of the issues and calling the system safe fools no one.

The point is, major, long term issues plague the DC EMS system. They didn’t happen overnight, and neither will be the fixes.

But not getting started with a cohesive, integrated approach to system redesign will guarantee that it’ll never happen. Until then, the department will continue to provide plenty of stories for the DC mainstream media.
