FRESNO, Calif. — A Fresno Firefigher was shot in the line of duty in the leg. He suffered minor injures and is expected to be okay.
The incident happened at a home on the 3600 block of Cloe around 4 a.m. Thursday morning after firefighters arrived in response to a medical call.
It is unclear how the medical call came into the 911 dispatch. “The homeowner said they didn’t call 911. The dispatcher said they got a medical alert call — like a bracelet someone might have or a button in somebody’s house — they were notified that way. They tried calling back the number, but nobody answered, so they sent out an ambulance unit and the ambulance unit requested a fire unit,” said Koby Johns, Fresno Fire Department.
