FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A firefighter-paramedic died July 9 after suffering a massive heart attack.
FirefighterCloseCalls.com reported that Frank Echevarria, 52, worked his last shift July 2. The next morning, he reported not feeling well and drove himself to the hospital. En route to the hospital, he experienced a heart attack. He was resuscitated and taken to the ICU, where he spent six days before he died.
Echevarria worked for Cumberland County EMS and spent 30 years as both a firefighter and paramedic.
