EMT dies after crashing truck on way to work

He was admitted to the hospital with what were assumed to be non-life-threatening injuries after the accident

LANCASTER, Pa. — Another emergency responder in Lancaster County has died in an accident.

Larry Joe, Wrightsville, is the fourth member of the emergency services community to die in a vehicle accident since September; a fifth died after falling ill at home.

The 63-year-old EMT with Lancaster EMS crashed his pickup truck at Lampeter Road and Glebe Lane on Tuesday at 6:42 a.m. He died at Lancaster General Hospital at 10 Wednesday night, West Lampeter Township police Officer Melissa Ransing said.
