NASHVILLE, Tenn. – First Call Ambulance Service, a Nashville-based provider of expert clinical patient transport, has relocated and expanded its corporate headquarters to 1930 Air Lane Drive. The renovated facility features approximately 62,000 square feet of space the company will use for office operations and indoor vehicle storage and maintenance.
First Call started in Nashville in 2004 with two ambulances and a handful of employees and is now among the largest private ambulance companies the U.S., operating nearly 250 vehicles in 17 locations across Tennessee, Ohio, and Mississippi. The company expects to service more than 250,000 patient transports this year.
“We simply outgrew our previous space,” said Mike Ross, Chief Executive Officer of First Call. “In the past two years we have essentially doubled the size of our company. This new location is much better suited for our current needs and supporting the ongoing growth we anticipate. In the process of the move we’ve also made significant technology upgrades and added some amenities that we have not historically had, such as indoor parking and maintenance for our vehicles. We are proud of the new space and what it means for the future of our company.”
In January First Call purchased EMT, Inc. of Eaton, Ohio, marking its first major expansion outside Tennessee and Mississippi and boosting its total employee headcount to approximately 1,000. In October 2012 First Call purchased Allied EMS, another private ambulance provider in Newport and Morristown, Tenn. Last year First Call also acquired the assets of Magnum EMS and Medic Ambulance Company, operating primarily in the Newport and Memphis, Tenn. markets, respectively.
