QUEENSLAND, Australia — Queensland paramedics have been advised to wear full bio-hazard gear when treating patients with flu-like symptoms, although similar procedures have not been recommended for most health workers on the front line since the outbreak of swine flu.
Gold Coast ambulance officers late this week donned head-to-toe white bio-hazard suits before treating a woman at who reported suffering from flu-like symptoms.
The woman, who was treated by paramedics outside her Chevron Island home, had reportedly been in contact with visitors from overseas before coming down with a fever.
