WINDER, Ga. — A firefighter injured when part of a burning roof collapsed on him last January submitted a complaint against his chief Tuesday claiming his concerns about the incident were ignored and no investigation was completed.

Firefighter/paramedic Jay Harrison, who suffered second- and third-degree burns in a house fire on Jan. 24, 2005, said he believes Fire Chief Mitch Kitchens should be terminated for the department’s failures.

Harrison claimed Kitchens falsified documentation in his worker’s compensation claim and provided false information to the county’s human resources department, saying Harrison was not wearing appropriate protective gear.
