The new Flat IFAK by Rescue Essentials® among several innovative new products for emergency medical services and prehospital care
LELAND, N.C. — Rescue Essentials® and JEMS (Journal of Emergency Medical Services) are proud to announce the selection of the Flat IFAK by Rescue Essentials as a Hot Product at the virtual EMS Today Conference & Exposition.
The Flat IFAK was selected by a panel of judges made up of emergency medical services (EMS) product specialists, physicians, educators, administrators and paramedics. Judges reviewed products that deliver optimal emergency medical care to sick and injured patients and allows EMS agencies to do it more innovatively, safely and efficiently.
Products were evaluated based on the following categories: 1) Originality, 2) Functionality, 3) Ease of use, and 4) Need in the EMS setting. Rescue Essentials’ Flat IFAK was selected as a Hot Product after the EMS Today Hot Products review team reviewed and rated dozens of products.
“To earn the title of a JEMS Hot Product, a product has to be innovative and practical,” JEMS Editor Emeritus A.J. Heightman said. “Submissions this year were truly revolutionary and highly functional. That shows our industry is keeping pace with the current science of emergency medicine and companies are developing or upgrading products to stay ahead of the curve.”
Rescue Essentials’ Flat IFAK is built on a low-profile pouch platform and is loaded with essential TCCC components to address traumatic injuries in a variety of situations. The unique sleeve design allows for MOLLE mounting in a variety of locations such as on a ballistic vest, a pack exterior, or on the Rescue Essentials MOLLEHead Vehicle Mount, providing rapid access when it’s needed, and secure, low-profile storage when it’s not.
Dual pull handles provide access to the inner sleeve from either direction. When mounted on the front or back of a tactical vest or gun-belt, it can easily be accessed from either side. Nylon handle covers provide tactile feedback and confirmation of the pull handles. The PALS panel on the front of the pouch provides a mounting point for additional items such as mag pouches, tactical light holsters or cell phone pouches.
The slim design can be mounted without taking up too much real-estate or adding bulk, but the ample size still carries what responders need in an emergency.
