HOLDEN, MA – The Central Massachusetts EMS Corp recently added a Reeves Incident Command Post (ICP) Trailer to their arsenal of response equipment.
Officials at the EMS Corp first became interested in the ICP late last year. After receiving a demo in the fall, they quickly decided to purchase a medium-sized incident command post.
“The personnel we worked with liked how quickly they could set up the command post, and that it could easily be transported using vehicles they already owned,” says Reeves ICP Project Manager Mark Tallo.
Offering 161 square feet of usable space, the EMS Corp plans to use the ICP as a regional command post during emergency situations throughout the area. The trailer system will also be outfitted with communications equipment to further improve coordination between responders.
“The ICP’s basic design includes a console that can be used to store a department’s equipment, from medical supplies to tactical gear,” explains Tallo. “Once the EMS Corp decided that they wanted to use the console to hold communications gear, we were able to work with their communications vendor to create a customized console specific to what they needed.”
The Central Mass EMS Corp will receive their ICP later this winter.
