SAN MARCOS, Texas — A new video from the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center at Texas State University teaches civilians how to respond if faced with an active-shooter incident.
The video is a collaboration between ALERRT and Wal-Mart and will be used to train 1.5 million Wal-Mart employees, reported KXAN.
The video, which is part of a Wal-Mart Active Shooter Awareness Campaign, is intended to train employees and civilians. According to ALERRT research, about half of active-shooter incidents are over before law enforcement arrives.
