Two South Carolina County Emergency Medical Service Agencies Deploy the MEDIVIEW™ Electronic Patient Care Record Platform and Prehospital Health Information Exchange

Billing agency that brought MEDIVIEW™ to Orangeburg and Calhoun counties is first in South Carolina to process and bill using NEMSIS v3

COLUMBIA, S.C. (July 2015) — Beyond Lucid Technologies (“BLT”) announced that it has expanded its footprint in South Carolina as part of a strategic focus in light of the region’s national reputation for excellence in emergency medical services. In June 2015, both Calhoun County EMS and Orangeburg County EMS deployed BLT’s MEDIVIEW™ platform electronic patient care record (ePCR) and prehospital health information exchange, including integrated telemedicine and full online/offline documentation capability. Both counties received MEDIVIEW™ as part of BLT’s partnership with Lowcountry Billing Services in Lexington, the first EMS billing company in South Carolina to process data that complies with the new National EMS Information System (NEMSIS) version 3, which was designed for interoperability with hospital health records systems.

Crystal Youmans, Training Officer for Calhoun County EMS, who was named South Carolina EMS Educator of the Year in 2014, described her experience using her county’s new software: “Since switching to Beyond Lucid’s MEDIVIEW, we have seen a very reactive group of people that want to make this system the best functioning system for EMS. What I am so impressed with them about is their re-activeness to us and how quickly they try and resolve the problems. This company strives for the stars and values their customers, which makes this system the best.”

Jeff Sarokas, Operations Manager at Lowcountry Billing Services (“LBS”), said: “Aligning with an ePCR software company that shares the same values as LBS is a significant benefit to all county and private ambulance agencies. LBS and BLT (with its MEDIVIEW platform), together can provide what ambulance agencies need, accurate and regulatory compliant electronic record keeping and the ability to expedite and increase the agency’s revenue cycle.”

Jonathon Feit, Co-Founder & CEO of Beyond Lucid Technologies, said: “The Calhoun and Orangeburg county EMS agencies, and our billing partners across South Carolina, inspire us with their belief that technology is a tool that contributes to clinical insight and operational efficiency. Together we’re leading the charge to NEMSIS v3 adoption, data-driven EMS, and innovative care models like Community Paramedicine, while focusing on fundamentals like paperwork reduction.”
