EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Carol Mansfield, the CEO of three ambulance firms in Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, has acquired the business known as New England Emergency Medical Training, for an undisclosed sum.
Plans call for the establishment of an expanded location at 1970 Pawtucket Ave., in East Providence, near the Seekonk, line, to offer additional programs.
Mark Haskell, president of Corporate Relations and Government Affairs for Stat/Southcoast EMS and Coastline EMS, said that the school will be incorporated under the Stat/Southcoast and Coastline umbrella, and that they plan to expand its offerings, looking to draw students from Massachusetts as well as Rhode Island. He said, additionally, that they are considering adding courses to the training center curriculum. Presently, New England Emergency Medical Training primarily prepares individuals for EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and Paramedic examinations. Haskell notes that they may include training in related areas, such as Phlebotomy.
