LOS ANGELES — A woman was arrested after stealing an ambulance outside a residence over the weekend.
Responders were inside a home providing medical aid when Desiree Delatorre, 24, stole the Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance. She was arrested after leading police on a brief chase and crashing into two power poles, reported the Los Angeles Times.
LAFD officials did not say whether the keys were left in the vehicle while responders were inside treating the patient.
Delatorre was arrested on charges of grand theft auto. She is being held on $80,000 bail.
No one was injured in the crash.
