RICHMOND, Texas — A Waco man facing rape and other charges attempted to escape from deputies Thursday by jumping out of an ambulance on the way to the hospital, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies charged Michael Harrison, 28, of Drowning Creek Road, with first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree wanton endangerment and third-degree escape after deputies responded to his residence to investigate a domestic dispute.
The victim had reported to dispatchers that Harrison had held a gun to her head, according to the news release. Upon arrival, the deputies detained Harrison on the strength of an existing warrant.
