BELTON, Texas — At least five local firefighters were taken to a Temple hospital Friday evening after a series of crashes on a stretch of rural road that involved several vehicles including a fire truck and an ambulance.
The five firefighters were trapped after their truck overturned following a collision with a pickup truck near the intersection of Chalk Lane and FM 439, Department of Public Safety Trooper Harpin Myers said.
After they were freed, they and the driver of the pickup truck were taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Myers said.
