Mass.-Based Armstrong Ambulance Service Upgrades to ZOLL Resuscitation Equipment

CHELMSFORD, Mass. — ZOLL Medical Corporation (NASDAQ: ZOLL), a manufacturer of resuscitation devices and related software solutions, today reported that Mass.-based Armstrong Ambulance Service will standardize to ZOLL resuscitation equipment. In addition to deploying the ZOLL AutoPulse® Non-invasive Cardiac Support Pump on its ALS ambulances, Armstrong Ambulance purchased 17 E Series(tm) defibrillators as well as 13 AED Plus(tm) and 67 AED Pro® automated external defibrillators. Armstrong recently chose to standardize on ZOLL equipment as they prepare to open a state-of-the-art, 15,000-square-foot facility in Arlington, Mass. later in October.

In 1999, Armstrong was one of the first to deploy ZOLL’s RescueNet(tm) electronic data-management system, which allowed them to better manage many areas of their business. Armstrong realized improvements in the quality of patient documentation, as well as enhanced clarity on specific paramedic and EMT training needs. It also improved their billing and collections process.

According to Armstrong’s CEO Christina Larson, “From the beginning, founder Bill Armstrong always believed in deploying state-of-the-art technology. It is important to provide our staff with the latest tools they need to do their jobs. Giving them the proper equipment allows them to maintain a high level of patient care. ZOLL’s technology allows us to excel in the areas of clinical excellence, patient care, and business operations. This approach is what Armstrong requires to grow our business and be successful over time.”
