QUEENS, New York — A lovesick EMT from Queens is facing a dose of reality after he was nabbed for stalking a patient whom he drove to the hospital during the Christmas-week blizzard, authorities said.
The randy medic was so bent on hooking up with the damsel in distress that he later showed up at her Astoria home and knocked on her door for more than an hour, according to the city’s Department of Investigation.
While the victim was suffering from severe stomach pains on Dec. 26, Ansar Ali, 50, a private-ambulance worker who responded to a 911 call, chatted her up, asking if she lived alone, what hours she worked, and then slipped her a note asking if he could give her a call sometime, officials said.
She turned him down, but the frisky first-responder who took her to Wyckoff Heights Hospital where he works, allegedly wouldn’t take no for an answer, repeatedly phoning her and leaving threatening messages, including one where he vowed to turn her in to immigration authorities.
When the victim refused to respond, Ali decided to pay her a personal visit on Jan. 6, repeatedly knocking on her door for 90 minutes and demanding that he be allowed inside, a DOI spokeswoman confirmed.
Ali, who has been suspended, was charged with coercion, aggravated stalking and harassment.
