WILTON, N.H. — Adrienne Valdez, the Mont Vernon woman accused of attacking three ambulance personnel when they responded to her call for help, is behind bars after being arrested following an altercation at her mother’s home in Wilton.

Valdez, 28, was charged with a felony count of second-degree assault and two misdemeanor simple assault charges for her Memorial Day attack on Amherst Ambulance Service EMTs Lynn Briggs, Sandra Power and Carylyn McEntee. According to Ambulance Director Brian Gleason, all three EMTs were injured, two badly enough to miss work for several weeks.

According to Mont Vernon Police Chief Kyle Aspinwall, Valdez headbutted Briggs in the face, knocking her over, and headbutted McEntee, biting her elbow and breaking her wrist.

Power was also attacked, cut and bruised, the chief said.

“In my ten years in Amherst, I’ve never seen an attack like this,” Gleason said last week.

Valdez was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and two charges of simple assault. She was released on $20,000 personal recognizance bail.

Last Monday, Valdez was expected to attend a probable cause hearing at Milford District Court, but failed to appear because, according to her attorney, she had been hospitalized.

However, at some point during the week, Valdez was released from a Manchester Hospital, said Wilton Police Officer Glenn Huff. He said she was staying with her mother, Kimberly Dean-Valdez at her home at 184 Curtis Farm Road.

On Friday, police were summoned to Dean-Valdez’s residence on a domestic violence call, Huff said.

Allegedly, Valdez and her mother had an altercation that resulted in Valdez breaking a table and a lamp. Huff said no one was injured.

She was arrested on a class A misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief (vandalism) and also charged with breach of bail for allegedly committing another crime while out on bail.

Her bail has been set at $5,000 cash. She was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 13 at 9 a.m. at Milford District Court.

She is expected to remain behind bars unless someone posts bail.

In the meantime, EMT Carylyn McEntee is still healing from a broken wrist. Briggs is recovering from an injury to her ribs. Both are currently out of work on worker’s compensation.
