National EMS Advisory Council

WASHINGTON — For more than a decade, individuals like you have served on the National EMS Advisory Council, representing diverse stakeholders within the EMS community and advising the U.S. Government on important national issues affecting EMS.

Over the past 10 years, the council has worked to elevate the profession through open and thoughtful discussion and recommendations on topics ranging from an EMS culture of safety to the education system, and data collection to community paramedicine. On April 20 at 12 p.m. ET, NHTSA’s Office of EMS will host an EMS Focus webinar to reflect on the impact of the NEMSAC on national policy and share how to apply to be a NEMSAC member and represent your profession in Washington.

Former NEMSAC Chair Aarron Reinert; Jon Krohmer, MD, Director of the Office of EMS; and Vince Robbins, current NEMSAC Chairman, will discuss the most influential NEMSAC recommendations as well as the current council’s priorities and the important work that remains. The speakers will also share their personal experiences serving on NEMSAC and solicit feedback from the audience on key issues.

The panel will discuss:

  • The NEMSAC’s most impactful recommendations to date.
  • Innovations in EMS that have come as a direct result of NEMSAC’s recommendations.
  • Why EMS community leaders should apply to serve on the council.

Attendees will be encouraged to submit questions during any point of the discussion. The webinar and Q&A will last approximately one hour. You can register for the webinar here.
