MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Tenn. EMTs responded to more than 20,000 calls in Madison County in the 2011-12 fiscal year.
Emergency crews were on track to meet or exceed the same number of Madison County calls this fiscal year as last, according to the Jackson Sun.
Joyce Noles, director of West Tennessee Healthcare’s Emergency Medical Service Unit, says emergency services have handled 106 calls during the start of this fiscal year for a total of 465 service hours.
Crew members have been trained to treat patients with hypothermia or cardiac arrest in the field before they are taken to the hospital.
