CARLSBAD, Calif. — Quality improvement systems in EMS are evolving slower than they are in the rest of health care. There are some leaders in the EMS world, including the folks at FirstWatch, that would like to help close this gap. To do that effectively, it would help to have a baseline understanding of where QI systems are today.
FirstWatch has partnered with the Cal State University San Marcos School of Business Administration to create and administer a brief, anonymous survey. This survey looks at current quality improvement practices, use of data within those practices and frequent performance feedback is provided.
Responses from both EMS providers and managers will be compiled and analyzed by the students at CSUSM, then shared in an EMS1 article written by performance improvement guru, Mike Taigman. All EMS providers and managers are encouraged to participate.
You can take the survey here or email questions regarding the survey to jsmith@firstwatch.net.
