OMAHO, Neb. — The City of Omaha is looking to outsource its paramedic training program, a move that Mayor Jean Stothert says will save money and improve the Fire Department’s performance.
Tuesday, the Omaha City Council will hold a public hearing on a proposed five-year deal between the city and Metropolitan Community College.
The cost of the deal would vary from year to year, depending on the number of people receiving training. It also would include funding for one Metro employee to serve as a full-time administrator of the training programs. That part of the contract would start at $156,500 this year and increase by $1,000 a year.
