TOWN OF VILLENOVA, N.Y. — A Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputy and a passerby are being credited with saving the life of a driver involved in a fiery wreck that happened Sunday at about 5:20 a.m.
The 28-year-old victim was pinned in her burning car after it crashed on route 83 in the Town of Villenova. The deputy and passerby, who is an EMT, broke the vehicle’s windows and pulled the woman out — just seconds before it was fully engulfed in flames.
Emergency responders had to break the windows because a fire extinguisher the deputy had ran out on the scene.
