MERIDEN, Conn. — A local man who allegedly threatened and attacked a medic with Hunter Ambulance in 2012 was arrested Sunday nearly three years after the incident.
Rafael Correa, 55, of 144 Pratt St., was charged with assault on medical personnel Sunday. Police acted on an arrest warrant issued for Correa in April 2012, police spokesman Lt. Sal Nesci said Wednesday.
According to Nesci, a crew from Hunter Ambulance was dispatched to Correa’s address on April 14, 2012 for an apparent fall. Correa, who admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the day, suffered a facial laceration, Nesci said. As medics provided treatment, Correa was “a bit combative” and wasn’t cooperative, he said.
