RICE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Mountain Top woman was recently arraigned after a May 5 medical call in which police say she struggled with them and an ambulance crew.

Patricia Davison, 56, faces aggravated assault and simple assault by Rice Twp. police.

She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail July 15 by Magisterial District Judge Ferris Webby, Wright Twp.

According to arrest papers:

Police and an ambulance were sent to 709 Ice Harvest Drive at 10:27 p.m. for a fall victim and arrived to find Davison, who appeared intoxicated, bleeding.

She began yelling at the ambulance crew treating her on scene and her husband, and grabbed at one of the medics. As she did so, her head wound began to bleed uncontrollably and each time bandages were placed on the wound she ripped them off.

An officer held her hands to prevent her from taking off more bandages but she attempted to pull herself up. The first responders put her on a gurney to get her out of the house and as a medic went outside to get it, Davison began to kick the officer.

The officer attempted to regain control of her as she continued to bleed heavily and restrained her so they could get her on the gurney and into the ambulance.

The officer rode in the ambulance on the way to the hospital and while en route she leaned on her left side facing the medic and raised her hands which were handcuffed in front of her and hit the medic’s head with her fists. She was further restrained and then attempted to spit at the officer and medic, but when EMS personnel attempted to put a mask on her she tried to bite them, so a towel was put over her face.

It took about five security guards at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital to restrain her there.
